Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Vadym Dutko.
Before the full-scale war, Ukrainian horting champion Vadym Dutko got married and left the country with his wife, but he returned as soon as the Russian occupiers invaded our land to take up arms. Vadym Dutko died on September 7, 2022, forever remaining 23 years old. This was reported by 'Glavkom' with reference to the district newspaper 'Nash Kray.'
Vadym Dutko's Life Path
Vadym Dutko was born on May 18, 1999, in the urban-type settlement Dubyshche, Lutsk district of Volyn, along with his twin brother. After finishing his studies, the young man began practicing sports - combat horting. Vadym was a champion of Ukraine and repeatedly won prizes in nationwide competitions.
In 2018, Vadym went on a contract military service with two brothers. He served in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. While being a serviceman, Vadym also participated in the crossfit championship among teams from Zhytomyr and the open rugby cup in Lviv. He also placed in the prize-winning positions in these competitions.
Return to the Homeland
On the first day of the full-scale invasion, the man was thousands of kilometers away from Ukraine but decided to urgently return to defend his homeland. Vadym was the commander of the reconnaissance unit of the air assault battalion.
Senior soldier Vadym Dutko died in battle for the homeland on September 7, 2022, near the settlement of Maksymivka in the Bohodukhiv district of Kharkiv region.
Vadym left behind a wife, Olena, with whom he spent only six months abroad in family relations, three brothers, two of whom also defend Ukraine, and a sister.
Awards and Commemoration
The fighter was buried with full military honors in his native village, Dubyshche.
For heroism and courage demonstrated during military operations, conscientious and impeccable service to the Ukrainian people, Vadym Dutko was posthumously awarded the 'For Courage' III degree and the medal 'For Military Service to Ukraine.'

In memory of the hero Vadym Dutko, who rose to defend his country and sacrificed his own life, we should preserve and pass on his story to future generations so they remember the courage and heroism of the Ukrainian people.
