In Ukraine, a new price increase for fuel is expected this week. According to energy market expert Dmytro Lyoshkin, gasoline may increase by 1 hryvnia between November 10 and 16, and by the end of the month — another 1 hryvnia. He provided this information on Lviv.media.
Forecast until the end of 2025
Lyoshkin, the founder of the Prime group of companies, explained that by the end of November, gasoline A-95 may rise by 2 hryvnias, and at the end of December by another 2 hryvnias due to excise taxes. Last week, the average price of A-95 was 58.39 UAH per liter. Thus, by the end of the year, fuel prices may reach 62.39 UAH per liter.
Why fuel prices are rising
The main reason for the price increase is the ban on fuel imports from countries that process Russian oil. These include Turkey and India. Due to the 19th package of EU sanctions, a deficit has emerged in the market, which Europe is already feeling, and consequently, so is Ukraine.
According to the expert, the market reacts to several factors:
- the diesel and gasoline deficit in Europe due to sanctions against Russia;
- restrictions on supplies from Turkey and India;
- expected increase in excise taxes in December;
- fluctuations in exchange rates affecting purchase prices.
Lyoshkin emphasized that the increase may be gradual, but the trend towards growth will persist at least until the end of the year.
