The Central Election Commission proposes allowing military personnel to vote at their location

З Центральною виборчою комісією обговорюється питання голосування військових на місці їхньої служби.

Proposals of the Central Election Commission

The Central Election Commission (CEC) proposes allowing military personnel to vote at their location. This initiative aims to facilitate the voting process for military personnel who are performing their duties away from their registration place. As part of this proposal, the CEC also plans to regulate the procedure for including military personnel in the voter lists based on submissions from commanders on election day.

Changes for Candidates

In addition, the election commission deems it necessary to introduce a mandatory requirement for candidates for the presidency and parliamentary posts to submit a declaration regarding their connections with the Russian Federation or other states that threaten the territorial integrity of Ukraine. This initiative is intended to ensure greater transparency and increase trust in candidates during the elections.

Furthermore, the CEC has also adopted a resolution to create an automated information and communication system 'All-Ukrainian Referendum'. This decision will facilitate better organization of referendums and ensure more effective management of the electoral process in Ukraine.

The proposed changes from the CEC are important steps in the context of ensuring democratic processes in Ukraine, especially amid military actions. Allowing military personnel to vote at their location can significantly improve their participation in elections, as many of them are unable to be present at their registration place. The implementation of the requirement for candidates’ connections with countries that threaten Ukraine could also foster a more transparent political environment, which is a key aspect in times of crisis. The creation of a new information and communication system will enhance the organization of referendums, which is also crucial for the democratic development of the country.
