Repairs have begun at the 'Kelmentsy-Larga' checkpoint on the border of Ukraine and Moldova to modernize customs and border infrastructure. Citizens and international carriers are asked to be prepared for temporary delays during customs and border control.
«Attention to citizens and international carriers planning to cross the border with Moldova. Temporary delays may occur during customs and border control,» – the message states.
Drivers are asked to consider these circumstances and possibly change their route.
Increase in the number of checkpoints for buses
With the agreement between Ukraine and Romania, the number of checkpoints for buses has increased. After the agreement was reached, buses can now use the 'Diakovtsy - Rakovets' checkpoint, which was previously unavailable due to infrastructure restrictions. The decision will be valid from July 9 to September 30, when an increase in passenger traffic is expected during the summer.
During the summer season, passenger traffic through the checkpoints in Lviv region increased by 40%, and even more on weekends, averaging 16% more compared to weekdays.
Since July 10, only regular buses will be able to register through the 'eQueue' system at the 'Shehyni-Medyka' checkpoint due to high traffic for crossing the border.
Repair work on the border of Ukraine and Moldova has led to temporary delays at the 'Kelmentsy-Larga' checkpoint, so drivers are advised to be cautious when moving through this point.
