Food procurement and provision for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026
The state logistics operator of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has concluded 100% of the food procurement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2026. Furthermore, it is planned to conclude over 80% of contracts for the supply of material goods to the Armed Forces by the end of December 2023. This is part of a new strategy that includes the launch of the State Quality Assurance Management (SQAM) in 2026.
Manufacturers supplying products for the Armed Forces must undergo certification according to international standards, including ISO 9001. This will ensure high quality of the products supplied to the military. In the second half of 2025, a memorandum was signed with the State Service of Food Safety and Consumer Protection, which provides for the quality control of food products. Butter, cheese, and canned meat from each batch undergo mandatory laboratory verification, which will also improve the quality of supplies.
Digital transformation and improvement of the supply for the Armed Forces
In 2026, the digital transformation of logistical support will extend to material goods and fuel and lubricants. Consultations on the implementation of the reimbursement model will begin at the start of the year. The Logistics Forces Command and the Central Logistics and Supply Management have confirmed their readiness for cooperation. It has been noted that the continuous improvement of forms and equipment occurs based on the requests of end users.
These measures aim to enhance the efficiency of supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is crucial for maintaining their combat readiness in the face of modern challenges.
The introduction of new quality standards and digital technologies in logistical support for the Armed Forces is an important step in strengthening the country's defense capability.
This will not only improve supply quality but also ensure compliance with modern requirements, enhancing trust in military structures. The implementation of new cooperation and quality control models is necessary to maintain the effectiveness and combat readiness of the Armed Forces amid the ongoing conflict.
