In Poland, the state program «Mama 4 Plus» continues to operate, which provides monthly financial support for parents of large families who have not gained the right to a minimum pension. After the March indexation, the maximum payment amount has increased to almost 2 thousand zlotys per month. This was reported by InPoland.
The «Mama 4 Plus» program in Poland: who can receive the payment
In 2026, the maximum amount of aid under the Mama 4 Plus program is 1978.49 zlotys per month, which corresponds to the minimum pension in Poland.
Eligible for payment are:
-
women aged 60 and older who have raised at least four children;
-
persons who have not gained the right to a minimum pension or receive a pension lower than the established minimum;
-
in exceptional cases – men, if the mother of the children has died or left the family.
If a person is already receiving a pension, but its amount is less than the minimum, the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) supplements the difference to the guaranteed level. If there are no pension rights at all, the applicant can receive the full amount of aid.

How to apply for the «Mama 4 Plus» payment in Poland
To apply for assistance, you need to submit an application form ERSU to ZUS. In it, you must provide personal data, residence address, method of receiving funds, and other information necessary for processing the request.
Documents can be submitted:
-
in person at the ZUS office;
-
by mail.
After the payment is granted, recipients are required to notify ZUS of any changes that may affect their entitlement to assistance or its amount. This particularly relates to employment or the appointment of another pension payment.
According to Polish social services, in April 2026, about 60 thousand people were using the «Mama 4 Plus» program. Most often, it is received by women who have dedicated many years to raising children and, as a result, could not accumulate the necessary insurance experience for the appointment of a minimum pension.
For many Ukrainians who reside permanently in Poland and meet the requirements established by law, this program can also become an additional source of financial support after reaching retirement age.
It should be noted that Polish workers are among the most loaded in the European Union. In 2025, the average duration of the working week in the country was 38 hours, which significantly exceeds the average across the EU.
