Application Period for Additional Compensation Now Open

Ukraine's 'Dіia' government services portal has begun accepting applications for a special 20,000 hryvnia bonus. This payment is designated for workers who repaired critical infrastructure damaged by shelling and accidents in January 2026. The program targets employees in the fuel and energy sector, housing and communal services, and the national railway, Ukrzaliznytsia. Applications for the funds must be submitted by the managers of the participating enterprises.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support essential workers during the ongoing conflict. Each month, by the 5th, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Ministry of Energy provide a list of eligible companies to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. From the 6th to the 15th, company managers can then submit lists of qualifying employees via the Dіia portal. Funds will be transferred directly to the workers' bank accounts. This pilot project covers bonus payments for work performed in January, February, and March of 2026. Payments are made by the end of the month following the completion of the work; for instance, compensation for January labor will be paid by the end of February.

Details on Participating Enterprises

The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development has already submitted information on 157 enterprises involved in heating, water supply, and sewage, covering approximately 6,500 utility workers. Additionally, 623 employees of Ukrzaliznytsia are slated to receive the supplementary payment.

"We are implementing this mechanism to support the people who, under extremely difficult conditions, are restoring light, heat, and water to homes, and who are reopening railway lines under the threat of shelling and in severe frost. This hard daily work directly impacts the resilience of our communities during this challenging winter. Such support is about value and respect."

Oleksii Kubra, Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine

The additional payments for workers restoring war-damaged infrastructure represent a significant step in supporting their efforts and maintaining morale. This also demonstrates the state's commitment to sustaining community life during emergencies. Consequently, the program not only provides financial support but also underscores the critical role these workers play in ensuring national stability during a crisis.
