The Tragedy of Iryna Farion
Iryna Farion, a former member of parliament and a prominent linguist, was murdered on July 19, 2024. Her daughter, Sofia Osoba, has now spoken publicly about her mother's personal life. The Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office has concluded its pre-trial investigation and submitted an indictment to the court against 18-year-old Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who is suspected of the killing.

According to the investigation, he was searching for information on potential victims, a list that reportedly included former President Petro Poroshenko. Farion's final relationship lasted for more than three years. Sofia Osoba stated that her mother was deeply in love with this man, respected him immensely, and was very happy.
"I can say that she was beloved, that she was in love with this man and loved him very much, respected him. And in truth, I was happy for her," said Sofia Osoba.
The lawyer for the victim's side in this case is Nataliya Romanyk. Sofia Osoba also expressed a wish for strength and confidence for the man with whom Iryna Farion was involved:
"I only wish strength for this man and the confidence that everything will be fine and that she is helping from heaven," said Sofia Osoba.
