Oleksandra Zelenska Completes Her Bachelor’s Degree
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that his eldest daughter, Oleksandra, has passed her last university exam and plans to pursue a master’s degree. He shared this news during a conversation in the courtyard of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. Oleksandra, who is 21 years old, has been studying law and is now finishing her undergraduate program.
Zelensky noted that his daughter performed exceptionally well on her final test, earning top marks.
“My daughter is 21. She just took her last exam and passed with flying colors. She’s a graduate now. I think she’ll go for a master’s degree. But it’s her decision. It seems to me she wants to. That’s the right path—it would give her a complete higher education,” the president said.
The Importance of Studying in Ukraine
Zelensky also emphasized how much it matters to him that Oleksandra is studying within Ukraine.
“Without casting aspersions on other families. For me, it’s very important that she attends university here, in Ukraine. It’s important—not to hear secondhand about what your country is going through, but to be here during the war,” he stressed.
Oleksandra helps raise her younger brother, Kyrylo, who is 13 years old. The president noted that she serves as a role model for him.
“She’s that kind of girl—she goes to bomb shelters. She writes to me very often: ‘Hi, where are you?’ I say: ‘And you?’ She replies: ‘We’re in the basement, everything’s fine.’ She handles it herself. She has a younger brother, and she sets an example for him,” Volodymyr Zelensky added.
The full-scale war has forced Ukrainian children to grow up faster, and this will undoubtedly shape their education and development. This story highlights the critical role of education during wartime and the responsibility of the younger generation in supporting both family and country. By earning her degree in Ukraine, Oleksandra Zelenska has become a symbol of resilience and hope for many Ukrainians who continue to study and work under challenging conditions. At the same time, her role as an older sister and a model for her brother shows how the war reshapes family dynamics and instills new values in young people.
