Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Taras Kovryk.



Taras Kovryk was a soldier who defended Ukraine in the ATO zone. He exemplified true devotion to his country, giving everything he had without fear.



Life and Service


Taras Mykolayovych Kovryk was born on July 29, 1988, in Hlyboka. He studied at the Chernivtsi Cooperative College and served in the police. In 2014, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carried out combat missions in the ATO zone, where he demonstrated true courage and bravery.



Final Actions and Death


After the war, Taras continued to serve in the police, but in 2022, he resumed participation in military actions. He died on February 18, 2023, during a mortar shelling, leaving behind a wife and son.


Taras Kovryk was posthumously awarded the Honorary Badge of the Chernivtsi Regional Council 'For Services to Bukovina' for his courage and dedication to duty.



Taras Kovryk is just one of many tragic stories of warriors who gave their lives for Ukraine during the war with Russia. His courage and selflessness deserve to be honored and remembered, reminding us of the sacrifice and heroism of our compatriots.
