Police Officers Honored for Bravery
Two police officers have been awarded the 'For Courage' medal, third class, for their actions in combat on the Toretsk front. Both sustained injuries while carrying out their duties. The Toretsk sector has been a focal point of intense fighting in the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Mykola Mytianskyi, a 41-year-old officer, has served with the 'Liuti' unit since the summer of 2024. Near Toretsk last autumn, he was wounded three times. On October 30, Mykola suffered severe shrapnel injuries from an enemy mine.

Valentyn Hradil, aged 35, received his award while in the hospital. In June of this year, he was wounded defending Toretsk, and again in July while evacuating a comrade. On December 7, his assault group came under artillery fire, resulting in serious injuries that required his evacuation.
The awards recognize their courage and self-sacrifice while performing their duties under extreme conditions.
The Critical Role of Law Enforcement
This event underscores the vital and perilous role of law enforcement personnel in conflict zones, particularly in eastern Ukraine. Honoring these officers not only acknowledges their service but also symbolizes support for all who risk their lives to protect the country and its citizens.
Amidst ongoing hostilities, such acts of recognition can bolster the morale of other service members and reinforce their commitment to their duties.
