Concerns of the Former President of Poland Regarding a Peace Agreement

Former President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski expressed concerns about the risks associated with a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that one of the greatest challenges for Ukraine could be a reduction in support from Western countries if the agreement does not contain clear security guarantees for the Ukrainian state.

The Importance of International Support

Kwasniewski emphasized the importance of support from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Poland in the context of negotiations. He also stressed that Europe will not agree to the 'surrender of Ukraine', which demonstrates the determination of Western partners in supporting Ukraine amid aggression from Russia.

The former president pointed out that a peace agreement can only be effective if there are clear security guarantees, which he believes is a critically important aspect.

“This risk exists, and I sincerely hope that Western partners will not deviate from this path,” – Aleksander Kwasniewski.

Kwasniewski also underscored that this agreement must be one of the strictest sanctions against the Russian aggressor, as the preservation of frozen Russian assets, amounting to about 300 billion dollars, is an important element of pressure on Moscow.

Kwasniewski's statements highlight the importance of international support for Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia. Clear security guarantees in the context of a peace agreement could be crucial for maintaining stability in the region. The continuation of Western support, particularly in the form of sanctions against Russia, can significantly impact the course of events and help Ukraine defend its sovereignty.
