Emergency power outages in Ukraine due to drone attacks
Emergency power outages have been implemented in Kyiv and Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions. This was reported by Glavkom referring to DTEK.
By the instruction of NEC Ukrenergo, emergency shutdown schedules have also been introduced in Sumy, Poltava, and Kirovohrad regions. Local electricity distribution companies noted this.
It should be noted that on Friday, October 17, the implementation of power restriction schedules for industry is planned across Ukraine from 07:00 to 22:00.
Massive attacks by Russian drones on the Ukrainian energy system
On the night of October 16, the occupiers once again struck energy facilities in several regions with drones. As a result, consumers in several regions were left without power by morning. Emergency recovery work is ongoing.
On the night of October 10, the Russian Federation once again carried out a massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure facilities. The strike occurred on the anniversary of the first shelling of the energy system, which the occupiers began in 2022. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Russian Federation attacked the Ukrainian energy system with over 450 drones and more than three dozen missiles.
Also, on the night of October 14, they attacked Ukraine. The main targets are energy facilities. Earlier, Zelensky stated that Ukraine might start importing electricity this winter due to enemy attacks on energy infrastructure.
By the way, the head of Ukrenergo, Vitaliy Zaichenko, believes that emergency power outages in Ukraine may last for a week.
