Russian shelling of Zaporizhzhia: 20 injured, rescuers completed their work

Emergency rescue operations in Zaporizhzhia completed after enemy shelling


In Zaporizhzhia, SES specialists have completed emergency rescue operations at the site of the enemy strike. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to SES.



Rescuers reported that as of 22:00 on August 10, emergency rescue operations at the shelling site have been completed. Recovery work by municipal services of the city is ongoing.



As a result of the Russian shelling, 20 people were injured, one of whom was rescued from under the rubble of destroyed structures. The number of injured is being clarified.



'SES psychologists provided assistance to 15 citizens. A canine unit was involved in the emergency rescue operations. Relevant emergency and municipal services of the city worked at the scene. A total of 44 rescuers and 15 units of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences,' said the press service.



President's reaction to the shelling by Russians


Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the shelling by Russians.



In his evening address, Zelensky noted that rescuers, medical staff, police, and all services are helping after the strikes of Russian bombs in Zaporizhzhia.



'Aerial bombs - hitting the city, ordinary buildings, the bus station, one of the clinics. Unfortunately, there are injured. Everyone will receive assistance. Thank you to each of our SES Ukraine workers, and all services for responding very promptly and always, under any circumstances, preserving human life,' he said.



In the past day, August 9, as a result of Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia, three people were killed, and one was injured, police reported.



After the enemy shelling in Zaporizhzhia, SES specialists completed emergency rescue operations. The injured are still receiving treatment, but rescue efforts to restore the city continue.
