The French government has decided to pay attention to the number of public holidays in the country. In particular, they are considering canceling Easter Monday and Victory Day. However, experts point out that this may not have a significant impact on the economy.
“The whole nation must work more - to produce, increase overall national activity throughout the year, and improve the situation in France. This is why I propose to cancel two public holidays,” explained Prime Minister François Bayrou.
Recent data shows that previous attempts at such an initiative had little success and provoked outrage among citizens. Even the far-right party disliked this idea, calling it an attack on the history of France and French workers.
Past experiments showed that the impact of canceling holidays on the economy was minimal, so further steps in this direction may become a subject of sharp discussion in French society.
Ukraine recently also received a refusal for French military equipment, indicating the complex economic and political relations between the countries.
