This spring, TV presenter and war participant Hennadiy Popenko underwent VLK and was discharged from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but continues to work with veterans. Popenko spoke about his work in the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, his health condition, and new projects.
After participating in the liberation of Kyiv region in 2022, Hennadiy took part in repelling attacks, demining, and other tasks. In 2024, he sustained a knee injury, which led to his discharge from service this spring. Now Popenko works at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
New interests and the importance of activity
While collaborating with veterans, he organizes various events, including nationwide esports competitions. Popenko emphasizes that although the work is hard, it is extremely important for supporting veterans and improving the situation in Ukraine.
Despite health issues, Hennadiy is actively involved in charity, filming, and working on television. He stresses that it is difficult, but important to continue helping and supporting Ukraine.
