Attacks on infrastructure in Russia: facilities ignited
On the night of December 5, Ukrainian forces struck the Temryuk seaport in Krasnodar Krai and the Syzransky oil refinery in Samara Oblast, Russia. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, these facilities are used to support the occupying Russian troops. Fires broke out as a result of the strikes, and damage is currently being assessed.
The Temryuk seaport, through which various cargoes are unloaded, including natural gas and chemicals, was hit. The Syzransky oil refinery, where a large amount of oil is processed annually, was also affected.
“The presence of drones on the premises of the refinery was detected, followed by a fire. Preliminary reports indicate that one of the refinery's installations was damaged,” the General Staff reported.
Results from a previous strike on the Saratov oil refinery have also been confirmed, where the primary oil purification unit was damaged. After the attack, a slight decrease in the refinery's productivity has been observed.
Attacks on various facilities in Russia
Earlier, drones attacked the city of Temryuk in Krasnodar Krai, and explosions occurred in the Oryol Oblast and Stavropol Krai, followed by fires at a chemical enterprise. Residents of Oryol reported 10 explosions, while at least six explosions took place in Nevinomyssk.
It should be noted that there had previously been attacks in Krasnodar Krai and Chuvashia, where interventions in infrastructure facilities also took place.
Attacks by Ukrainian forces on infrastructure in Russia are becoming increasingly intense and are covering more regions of the country. This may lead to serious consequences for the Russian economy and production, and compel the Russian Federation to take specific measures in response to such attacks.
