In 2025, the Pension Fund of Ukraine raised pensions by 11.5%. The Head of the PFU, Yevhen Kapinus, explained in an exclusive interview for Channel 24 how this increase is calculated and why it turned out to be higher than in previous years.
According to Kapinus, the indexation coefficient consists of two components: 50% increase in consumer prices and 50% growth in the average wage in Ukraine, on which insurance contributions are paid, over the three years preceding the increase. The coefficient of the average salary growth is determined annually by the government. In 2025, pensions were recalculated with a coefficient of 1.115.
Every month, the Pension Fund of Ukraine carries out 'regulatory' recalculations of pensions, taking into account various indicators that affect their size. The last indexation was carried out in March, and recalculation for working pensioners was conducted in April.
