Olga Gorbachova and Yuriy Nikitin’s Divorce
Singer Olga Gorbachova and producer Yuriy Nikitin have resolved custody of their daughters, Polina and Serafima, through private agreements without any formal child support arrangements. Divorce papers were filed in July, even though the couple had been living apart for over a year and a half. Gorbachova initiated the divorce proceedings.
Gorbachova did not seek alimony or child support, and all parenting matters are handled directly between the two former spouses.
“Neither last time nor this time did I file for child support. There’s no legal regulation—just mutual agreements. I’m not saying this is the right path for everyone, but it’s the one for me,” the singer explained. She emphasized that she wants their relationship to be governed by 'two mature, reasonable adults.'
Children’s Living Arrangements and Co-Parenting
The older daughter, Polina, is studying at a university in New York, while the younger one, Serafima, lives with her mother. Nikitin spends most of his time in New York for work. When he visits Serafima, Gorbachova uses that time for her own studies, travel, or other activities.
“We simply agreed on this. I try to go somewhere—for study, a trip, or back here (to Ukraine - ed.). So we create some distance and rely more on ourselves, even in parenting. That’s our arrangement,” she added.
This is the second divorce for both Gorbachova and Nikitin. The singer also shared her perspective on their situation, stating:
“Yes, I have that confidence, but as I said, this is a very individual case. I can’t urge everyone: ‘Trust the universe, it will take care of you.’ Well, I have that kind of relationship with the universe, but it’s different for everyone.”
In this way, Gorbachova and Nikitin continue to cooperate in raising their daughters, guided by principles of independence and mutual agreements, without legal formalities.
This case highlights a modern approach to divorce and parenting, where former partners strive for compromise and understanding without court battles. It could serve as an example for other couples facing similar challenges, as agreement-based interaction may reduce stress for children and create a more stable environment for their development. At the same time, Gorbachova’s situation underscores the importance of tailoring solutions to each unique family, since not all couples can achieve such harmony after separation.
