Russian troops have changed their offensive tactics

Recent reports indicate that Russian occupation forces have decided to abandon large assault groups and switch to using smaller units that attempt to infiltrate behind Ukrainian positions. This was reported by the spokesperson of the 3rd Army Corps, Oleksandr Borodin.

According to him, in the area of responsibility of the corps, the enemy is constantly conducting assaults and using the tactic of infiltration by small groups into rear areas. This is not a localized phenomenon - a similar strategy is being used by the occupiers across the entire front.

According to previous tactics, Russians used assaults with medium-sized groups and actively employed drones and guided aerial bombs. However, their actions are now focused on the infiltration of individual fighters and small units through the line of defense to exhaust and find weak points in the Ukrainian defense, the spokesperson explained.

Operations of the 3rd Army Corps

The 3rd Army Corps is responsible for the defense of about 150 kilometers of the front, which accounts for about 12% of its total length. The corps is holding defenses in the northern sections of the Donetsk region and Kharkiv region. The command of the corps is led by Andriy Biletsky. The formation was created in March 2025 based on the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.

Russian troops have decided to change their offensive tactics; the transition to the use of smaller units for infiltrating behind Ukrainian defenses allows them to search for weak points and exhaust the enemy. The operations of the 3rd Army Corps are crucial for maintaining defense in the northern sections.
