Strait of Hormuz Closed
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced a closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all maritime traffic until the United States ends its interference. An IRGC spokesperson stated:
“The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until further notice and until U.S. interference stops, and no vessel will be permitted to pass through.”
The IRGC Navy has already stopped one ship with warning fire after it ignored navigation orders. The Trump administration insists that Tehran has violated a memorandum of understanding signed three weeks ago. A meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Omani Minister Badr al-Busaidi is scheduled for Saturday in Muscat, a potential turning point in resolving the conflict.
