Ivano-Frankivsk is preparing for the renewal of public transport: by February 2026, the city will receive nine modern duobuses, some of which have already been manufactured and will soon arrive in the community. This is reported by Firtka.
Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv announced that the first four vehicles are already ready, and the municipal enterprise Elektroavtotrans has formed several route proposals. At the same time, the city wants to involve residents in the discussion - the community will be able to suggest where to launch the new rolling stock. According to the mayor, the appearance of duobuses will improve the quality of transportation and make it more comfortable to move around the city.
What is already known about Duobuses for Ivano-Frankivsk
Elektroavtotrans explained that duobuses can operate under the contact network or travel autonomously for 15-20 km. Before launching, each route will be tested:

checking the battery operation;

assessing road conditions;

determining the time needed for recharging.
Drivers are being selected for the new route. Experienced specialists will be transferred to the duobuses, while the others will continue working on different trolleybuses to ensure that the launch of the new line does not impact existing routes.

The city warns that the fare does not depend on the municipal enterprise. The director of Elektroavtotrans, Vitalyi Holutyak, stressed that the implementation of duobuses is a new format of transport for Ivano-Frankivsk, so it is important to properly assess the load, select staff, and consider technical requirements.
