The new commissioner for the protection of the state language has called on parents not to allow their children to watch the Russian cartoon 'Masha and the Bear'. Olena Ivanovskaya emphasized that this animated series is a tool of hybrid warfare aimed at promoting Russian values and cultural influence. Even the Ukrainian translation does not change its essence, as it contains embedded tools of influence developed by Russian special services.

The responsibility for protection against such 'cultural simulacra' primarily lies with the parents. It is necessary to continue the struggle for the Ukrainian cultural space, which is no less important than defense on the front.

The daughter of the commissioner spoke about the tragedies of the dispossession of her family in an interview with the media. Olena Ivanovskaya shared her experience of teaching her daughter to communicate in Ukrainian as a way to preserve linguistic identity. The problem of preserving the Ukrainian language among teenagers, especially in areas with a high level of Russian-language content, remains relevant. In this context, ensuring visibility for Ukrainian content and reducing the popularity of Russian content in the Ukrainian media space is important.
