The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made changes to the Procedure for using funds provided in the state budget to ensure the activities of enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. The innovations imply restrictions on the repeat receipt of grants and increased requirements for applicants, said Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet in the Verkhovna Rada.

Three-year restriction on repeat grants

According to the updated rules, participants who have already received budget grants from the Ukrainian Veterans Fund cannot participate in competitions again sooner than three years after the fund approves the final report on the execution of the grant agreement.

Exceptions are made in cases where the applicant participates in the project competition in a direction not related to the one for which they have already received a grant from the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.

Stricter requirements for organizations

The requirements for public associations applying for budget grants from the Ukrainian Veterans Fund have also been tightened. Now, only public associations where the head or a member of the collective executive body is a veteran or a family member of a veteran can receive budget grants.

These changes are aimed at ensuring more effective and targeted use of budget funds, as well as guaranteeing that grants are received by those organizations that represent the interests of veterans and their families.

The new rules are intended to eliminate abuses of the grant system and ensure fair distribution of funding among various projects and organizations of the veteran community.
