Vitalii Bihun Appointed as Head of Brovary District State Administration
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, has formally introduced Vitalii Bihun as the new leader of the Brovary District State Administration. The appointment follows a decree by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, issued on June 12, 2026, under order number 58/2026-рп. Prior to this, Bihun had been serving as acting head of the Brovary District State Administration since November 2025, a period during which he demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and effective leadership.
Key Characteristics of Brovary District
The Brovary District, now under Bihun’s leadership, encompasses eight territorial communities and 125 settlements. It ranks among the largest and most influential districts in the Kyiv region, with substantial work still ahead. Kalashnyk emphasized that the appointment was a logical step for the regional team:
'We navigated a challenging autumn-winter period together, tackling issues of security, community infrastructure, public support, and fulfilling the objectives set by Ukraine’s president.' - Mykola Kalashnyk
Notably, on June 4, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the dismissal of two district state administration heads. Those removed from their positions include:
- Dmytro Romanov, head of the Poltava District State Administration in Poltava region;
- Yurii Dudka, head of the Zolotonosha District State Administration in Cherkasy region.
This appointment of Vitalii Bihun reflects ongoing personnel shifts across Ukraine’s regions, occurring amid broader changes in state governance. The Brovary District, a key administrative hub, requires active management, particularly given challenges related to security and social stability. This move could mark a significant step in the district’s development, especially in improving public welfare and implementing government initiatives.
