Ukrainians' Fasting in 2026
In 2026, Ukrainians will observe fasts according to the New Julian calendar. The main fasts are Great, Peter's, Assumption, and Christmas, as well as one-day fasts in honor of special events.
Fasting Schedule in 2026
The Great Fast in 2026 will begin on February 23 and last until April 11, lasting 48 days. Easter, which is celebrated after the Great Fast, falls on April 12. After the Great Fast, the Peter's Fast will begin in Ukraine, lasting from June 8 to June 28.
