Canada is delivering armored vehicles and other military equipment to Ukraine
Canada's Minister of National Defence David MacIntyre announced that eight armored combat support vehicles (ACSV) have been delivered to Poland and are already on their way to Ukraine. In total, this year, the delivery of all 50 ACSV vehicles, which Canada has committed to deliver by 2023, is expected.
Minister MacIntyre confirmed Canada's unwavering support for Ukraine and announced the details of the latest military aid package. The country will allocate $835 million for the procurement of various equipment, including medical equipment, weapons, ammunition, drones, and other urgently needed equipment.
'Ukrainians are bravely fighting on the front line against Russia's unlawful and unprovoked war. This comprehensive military aid package will enable Ukraine to continue its struggle for freedom, territorial integrity, and democracy,' MacIntyre stated.
Canada will also allocate $680 million for the procurement of military equipment from NATO's prioritized needs list, which will be supplied from the United States. Additionally, $220 million will go towards the procurement of drones and electronic warfare systems, investments in joint ventures, and other objectives to strengthen the country's defense capability.
The country reaffirms its support for Ukraine by sending military equipment and allocating significant funds to support the Ukrainian army in its struggle for independence. This will facilitate Ukrainian military personnel to continue their vital role on the front line in the conflict with Russia.
