Bus Service Adjustments in Kyiv
On April 11, several bus routes in Kyiv will be temporarily altered due to planned street fairs on Holosiivska and Serzha Lyfaria streets. The Kyiv City State Administration (KCMA) has announced the new routes for affected services. Separately, Mayor Vitali Klitschko has issued directives concerning a review of public transport fare structures.
Revised Bus Routes
The changes will impact several bus lines. Specifically, bus number 39 will operate on the following adjusted route:
- Holosiivskyi Ave – Nauky Ave – Lysohirska St (to the transport interchange at the intersection with Raketna St and Panorama St) – Lysohirska St – Lysohirskyi Lane.
Its route in the opposite direction will remain unchanged.
Bus number 98 will follow this new path:
- Radunska St – Budyshchanska St – Honoré de Balzac St (odd-numbered side) – Oleksandry Ekster St – Chervonoi Kalyny Ave – Serzha Lyfaria St – Pukhivska St – TEC-6 (Combined Heat and Power Plant #6).
Additionally, bus number 110 will be rerouted as follows:
- Radunska St (in the opposite direction – Radunska St – Liskivska St – Myloslavska St) – Hradynska St – even-numbered side of Honoré de Balzac St (in the opposite direction – odd-numbered side) – Oleksandry Ekster St – Chervonoi Kalyny Ave – Serzha Lyfaria St – Mykoly Zakrevskoho St, then continuing on its regular route to the Ploshcha Ukrainskykh Heroiv metro station.
In related transport news, the fare for suburban minibuses (marshrutkas) on the Vyshhorod-Kyiv route has increased to 60 UAH. These adjustments to both routes and fares are part of the city's efforts to adapt its public transport system to temporary disruptions caused by major public events. Kyiv frequently hosts such markets and festivals, which require temporary logistical planning.
The route diversions and fare review reflect the city administration's aim to make public transport more responsive to events that impact urban infrastructure.
While street fairs are a vital part of the city's social and economic fabric, they necessitate temporary route adjustments to maintain convenience for residents and visitors. Commuters should stay informed about future service changes, as similar events may lead to regular schedule updates.
As the city continues to adapt its public transport system for various events, similar adjustments were made for the weekend food markets on March 28-29. These frequent changes highlight the city's commitment to ensuring smooth transportation during public gatherings.
