Before the start of the heating season, the Kyiv enterprise 'Kyivenergo' urges apartment owners to urgently check the condition of heat accounting devices. This concerns the deadlines for the verification of heating and hot water meters, the relevance of which affects the accuracy of utility charge calculations.
According to the director of the Energy Sales Department of Kyivenergo, Kostiantyn Lopatyn, 'the heating season will soon start, and clients must ensure their accounting devices are ready. If the verification deadline has expired, the meter should be verified as soon as possible. Otherwise, Kyivenergo will not be able to account for them during charging.'
Statistics show that in the capital, over 125,000 apartments are equipped with individual heat energy meters. These devices record the actual amount of energy consumed, allowing residents to pay solely for actual consumption rather than calculated norms according to the government formula.
Current legislation establishes clear requirements: meters must be verified every four years. The date of the next verification can be found in the certificate of the previous verification, the technical passport of the device, or in personal accounts on the official websites of Kyivenergo or the Utility Services Center.
The heating season is approaching, so apartment owners are recommended to check the condition of heat accounting devices, which are responsible for the accuracy of utility charge calculations. Proper functioning of the meters not only helps residents save but also contributes to fairer calculations for the consumption of heat energy and hot water.
