Ukraine Becomes a Standalone Market Within McDonald’s Global Structure

Україна отримала статус самостійного ринку в глобальній мережі McDonald's.

McDonald’s Ukraine Now Operates as Its Own Market

Starting in July 2026, McDonald’s Ukraine has been functioning as an independent market within the company’s international framework. Prior to that, since 2022, the Ukrainian market was managed jointly with the Czech Republic and Slovakia. During this period, nearly 80 new restaurants were opened across the region, with 40 of those located in Ukrainian cities.

Financial Performance and Leadership Updates

Today, McDonald’s operates 142 locations in Ukraine, employing around 12,000 people. Yulia Badritdinova serves as the General Director of the Ukrainian division. The company has also refreshed its leadership team:

  • Ksenia Mykhailenko now leads the marketing department
  • Serhiy Nevmerzhytskyi heads the People division
  • Oksana Demianchuk is in charge of Strategy and Transformation
  • Nazar Bediy oversees Corporate Impact
  • Ihor Klimov manages Information Technology

In 2025, the revenue of McDonald’s Ukraine LTD grew by 26.6%, reaching 21.3 billion UAH. For the first quarter of 2026, revenue already hit 5.2 billion UAH, a 21.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

The network in Ukraine has grown by nearly 30% since the start of the full-scale war. Having a separate market structure will allow us to better respond to local customer needs and execute our development plans.

Additionally, McDonald’s has announced a new global strategy called McDonald’s > NEXT, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and growth in a shifting market landscape.

This independent status for the Ukrainian market is a significant step for McDonald’s future in the country, especially amid rising competition and the need to adapt to local conditions. The increase in restaurant count and strong financial results reflect a successful strategy aimed at meeting consumer demands despite wartime challenges. The rollout of the new global initiative is also expected to help the company stay at the forefront of innovation, further strengthening its market position and expansion efforts.
