The Chinese ambassador to Ukraine, Ma Shenkun, stated that China supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict and is ready to help achieve a ceasefire. During a ceremonial event in Kyiv, the diplomat emphasized that China understands the difficulties faced by the Ukrainian people and is intent on actively working towards achieving peace. 'We fully understand the trials that the Ukrainian people are going through. China takes an objective and fair position, calling for peace negotiations and promoting political resolution,' said Ma Shenkun.
The diplomat highlighted Beijing's interest in quickly reaching a fair and sustainable peace agreement and stated that China is ready to actively engage with the international community in efforts to achieve a ceasefire.
Particularly, the diplomat emphasized that Ukraine and China have maintained relations based on mutual respect and benefit for over three decades. 'China is Ukraine's largest trading partner. The economies of our countries complement each other. China is ready to work with Ukraine to expand cooperation for the benefit of both nations,' said Ma Shenkun.
