Chernihiv is completely without electricity and has been left without water supply as a result of Russian drone attacks. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referring to the KP «Chernihivvodokanal». Municipal workers are making every effort in the morning to partially restore water supply using alternative power sources.
What is the situation with water supply in Chernihiv on October 21, 2025
Since the morning, employees of the municipal enterprise are making maximum efforts to partially restore the water supply using alternative power sources. According to representatives of «Chernihivvodokanal», they are trying to ensure water supply with pressure at least to the lower floors of high-rise buildings.
To ease the situation for the city's residents, a whole range of measures has already been organized:

Water delivery by water trucks to certain areas of the city

Launching the operation of water supply columns located near high-rise buildings

Informing the population about the exact places and times of water delivery through additional announcements
«We are making every effort to ensure water supply with pressure at the level of the lower floors of high-rise buildings. We ask everyone to make water reserves in advance», - noted the enterprise.
The sewage pumping stations are not operational in Chernihiv
The situation with the city's sewage system is particularly difficult. As reported by «Chernihivvodokanal», the task is not only to provide the population with water but also to drain wastewater from the city's territory, which requires the launch and control of more than 20 sewage pumping stations. This is a complex technological operation under conditions of complete lack of centralized electricity supply.
It is reminded that attacks on the energy infrastructure of the Chernihiv region began on the evening of October 20 and lasted throughout the night. As a result of the shelling, electricity supply completely disappeared not only in Chernihiv but also in the city of Slavutich and some areas of the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Municipal workers continue to operate in emergency mode, trying to stabilize the situation with the city's life support.
