Corruption Case Involving Former Ukrainian Defense Ministry Official
Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have served a second notice of suspicion to a former acting head of the Defense Ministry's Central Territorial Department. The official is accused of soliciting a bribe from a developer in June 2024, allegedly promising to rig a tender for the construction of a residential complex in Kyiv for military personnel and their families. The official has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 368 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which stipulates a prison term of 8 to 12 years, a ban on holding public office for up to 3 years, and confiscation of property.
