Ukrainian forces have managed to push Russian units from the northern part of Kupiansk after a series of powerful counterattacks. However, according to Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces group, the situation in the city remains extremely unstable as dynamic fighting continues.

The Russian tactics in Kupiansk are typical for urban warfare along the entire contact line.
