Russian Forces Driven Out from Northern Kupiansk: Situation Remains Complicated

Українські війська звільнили північний Куп'янськ, проте обстановка залишається напруженою.

Ukrainian forces have managed to push Russian units from the northern part of Kupiansk after a series of powerful counterattacks. However, according to Viktor Tregubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces group, the situation in the city remains extremely unstable as dynamic fighting continues.

'As of now, there have been a number of counterattacks in the northern part of the city, and the Russians have been pushed out, but the situation is precarious. Fighting is ongoing in the city, changing dynamically. Although we managed to drive out the Russians, it is still difficult in the city,'
Tregubov reported on air.

The Russian tactics in Kupiansk are typical for urban warfare along the entire contact line. They consist of attempts to 'find a location that is relatively protected from drone strikes, gather a certain number of troops there, and push further,' explained a representative of the Joint Forces. The occupiers are trying to seize civilian buildings, turning them into temporary strongholds.

At the same time, the threat remains in Vovchansk. According to command reports, the city is completely destroyed, and the enemy is trying to push Ukrainian troops from its southern part. Tregubov noted that 'the situation there is unpleasant for us in terms of control.'

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is almost not using heavy armored vehicles due to the effective work of Ukrainian drones and artillery. Viktor Tregubov emphasized that 'the enemy is almost not using heavy equipment in the Kharkiv direction, as it is almost immediately struck by Ukrainian drones,' significantly limiting the maneuverability of Russian units in this area.

Ukrainian forces successfully conducted a counterattack against Russian invaders in Kupiansk, however, the situation remains tense as enemy forces engage in dynamic fighting. The Russian army actively employs typical urban warfare tactics, attempting to seize civilian facilities to establish temporary strongpoints. Additionally, there is notable effective work by Ukrainian drones and artillery in the Kharkiv direction, hindering the enemy's ability to use heavy armored vehicles.
