The legendary coach of the Bulgarian national team, Dimitar Penchev, has died at the age of 80. He left a significant mark in the history of Bulgarian football, both as a player and a coach. Penchev became the Bulgarian champion eight times: once with 'Lokomotiv' and seven times with CSKA. In addition, he led his team to the final part of the Euro-96 Championship, which was an important milestone in the history of Bulgarian football.

A tragic loss for Ukrainian sports

At the same time, another tragic event took place in the sports world – the death of Ukrainian athlete Vitaliy Rymaruk, who served as an officer of the 1st combat group of the 4th special forces group 'Omega'. Rymaruk died at the front in the Pokrovsky direction in the Donetsk region. He was the champion of Ukraine among youth and a medalist of the adult championship, leaving a bright mark in the sports history of Ukraine.

The death of Dimitar Penchev is a great loss for Bulgarian sports, as his contribution to the development of football in the country is hard to overestimate. Penchev not only achieved significant success on the field but also left a legacy that inspired new generations of athletes. At the same time, the death of Vitaliy Rymaruk highlights the tragic consequences of the war for Ukrainian sports, where young talents who could achieve high results on the international stage lose their lives in battles.
