Alexander Lukashenko decided to please his colleagues - the presidents of Russia and China - with natural Belarusian potatoes. He will personally deliver 'neat sacks' of tubers to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China.

'Once President Putin asked me: 'Give me some Belarusian potatoes'. At that time, there was no opportunity. But now I will bring him fresh ones,' Lukashenko admitted.

He also prepared a batch of potatoes for Chinese President Xi Jinping. The SCO summit will take place in the Chinese city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, with the participation of more than 20 heads of state. It is expected that during the event Lukashenko will have a meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Lukashenko also expressed proposals regarding the lifting of sanctions, congratulated Donald Trump, and offered to organize a meeting between Putin and Zelensky in Minsk. At the same time, potato producers in Poland are facing a collapse in market prices, leading to significant losses among farmers.
