Massive Attack on Odesa Region
On the night of December 13, Russia carried out a massive attack on the Odesa region, resulting in the area being left without heat, water, and electricity. Civilian objects and energy infrastructure were damaged. According to reports, 4 people were injured as a result of the attack.
Over 100 firefighters have been called in to eliminate the consequences of the attack, working to restore normal conditions in the region. As a result of the attack, all traction substations in the city were left without electricity, significantly complicating transport communication.
Impact on Transport Infrastructure
Due to infrastructure damage, several suburban trains will not be running in the region, with delays reported on the following routes:
- No. 6253 Podilsk – Odesa-Glavna;
- No. 6255 Vapniarka – Odesa-Glavna;
- No. 6342/6341 Karolino-Buhaz – Odesa-Glavna.
Routes for social buses have also been changed; they will run from the Railway Station to 28th Brigade Street, from the Railway Station to Arcadia, and also on tram routes No. 17, 18, and 20.
Oleh Kiper, a representative of the local authorities, noted that 'Odesa region is experiencing one of the most massive aerial attacks.'
Authorities are urging residents of the region to exercise caution and be prepared for possible further attacks.
This attack is yet another indication of the escalation of the conflict in the region, which continues to suffer from the consequences of the war. Restoring energy and transport infrastructure in Odesa region will require significant efforts, as not only residential buildings but also important transport hubs have been left without electricity. Local authorities are calling on the population to remain vigilant and prepared for possible further attacks, highlighting concerns about security in the region.
