Massive strike on Kyiv: 6 thousand houses without heat, four people died

Внаслідок потужного удару по столиці України, тисячі домівок залишилися без опалення, на жаль, загинули чотири особи.

Massive strike on Kyiv

A massive combined strike by Russia on Kyiv on the night of January 9 resulted in no heating in 6 thousand houses, the death of four people, and injuries to 19 others. Fires and damage to residential buildings, as well as civil and industrial facilities in the capital, were recorded as a result of the attack.

Comment from Vitali Klitschko

Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, commented on the situation, noting that

“we are doing everything we can to resolve this as quickly as possible, but the combined attack on Kyiv last night was the most painful for the capital's critical infrastructure.”

It has also become known that the city of Slavutych found itself in a state of complete blackout, complicating the work of rescue and recovery services.

Currently, the assessment of the damages and the work on restoring heating for the affected houses is ongoing. The situation remains tense, and authorities urge residents to adhere to safety measures.

This attack underscores the continuation of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, which significantly affects the civilian population and infrastructure. The authorities of Kyiv continue to work on restoring critical services, but the security situation remains complicated, requiring the population to exercise caution and be prepared for possible further attacks.
