The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has prepared a new version of the law of Ukraine 'On Public Procurement', aimed at creating a competitive environment in this area and preventing corruption, the ministry's press service reports.
The draft law proposes to reduce the list of cases of public procurement not covered by the law from 44 to 9. It also suggests adapting the procurement procedures from a single participant to the practices implemented in European countries.
The document proposes to abolish the requirement to publish information on public procurement in a state official publication on public procurement issues and in an international information publication on public procurement issues, while maintaining the obligation to disclose this information on the website of the authorized body. The ministry believes that this will ensure savings of budgetary funds spent on the publication of such information and ensure transparency of access to it.
