Ministry of Energy explained the reasons for power outages: what disrupts the schedules

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine explained the reasons for the introduction of electricity restrictions for consumers and clarified the reasons for outages. According to the Ministry, the electricity supply restrictions are caused by various factors, such as shelling of energy facilities by Russia, network failures due to overloads or technical malfunctions, planned repairs, and natural phenomena damaging power lines.


There are three categories of outages: emergency, stabilization (hourly), and planned. The schedules are divided into queues that involve specific consumer groups.



Why may the schedules not be followed?


The Ministry emphasizes that even when stabilization outage schedules are announced, delays or extended outage durations may occur for several reasons: gradual inclusion, system imbalance, and the addition of emergency situations. The government is taking measures for the accelerated protection and restoration of critical infrastructure to ensure reliable electricity supply.
