The U.S. Department of Justice has stated it lacks sufficient grounds to open an investigation into Donald Trump's potential involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein matter. U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche emphasized in a statement that allegations concerning Trump remain unsubstantiated. While the former U.S. president's name appears in over 1,800 documents related to materials Epstein sent or received, this does not in itself indicate any criminal wrongdoing.
According to information released by the Justice Department, some of the materials may contain falsified or misleading data. Todd Blanche noted that several accusations against Trump were submitted in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election. He also pointed out that 'a portion of the tips received by the FBI were anonymous or based on rumors that could not be fully investigated.' Blanche stated that similar tips targeted not only Trump but a wide range of other politicians and public figures as well.

The U.S. Department of Justice released a new batch of Epstein files on January 30. Donald Trump's name is mentioned thousands of times within these documents. However, the Department stressed that 'hundreds of tips regarding prominent individuals were quickly deemed unreliable.' Blanche further noted that 'these documents consist largely of uncorroborated testimony, statements, and hearsay that have not been validated in a court of law.' Consequently, the Justice Department's position on Trump remains unchanged: 'the claims regarding Trump are unsubstantiated' and 'some allegations against Trump are unfounded and false.'
Furthermore, the name of former Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák, who is stepping down from his role as an advisor to the Prime Minister on national security, also appears in the Epstein case documents hundreds of times. This underscores the broad scope of this high-profile case, which has implicated numerous individuals across different spheres.
