The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine presented a project of the updated Military Medical Doctrine at the annual conference 'Human in the Military'. This document places a strong emphasis on combat medicine, which is being prepared for the challenges of wartime. The establishment of a Central Military Medical Administration (CMMA) is proposed for better management of military medicine.
'The innovation of the project is the clear segregation of functions between different structures to avoid duplication and enhance efficiency,' the Ministry of Defense explained.
The document also emphasizes the importance of medical planning at all levels of operations and involving medical personnel in these processes. It outlines the elements of the military medical system depending on the types of medical assistance, stages, and roles within this system.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is actively improving its military medical doctrine to be better prepared for potential wartime challenges and to ensure an effective medical assistance system in wartime conditions.
