New Application Categories Launched in the RD4U Registry

The International Register of Damages for Ukraine (RD4U) has announced the activation of five additional claim categories, enabling individuals, the state, and businesses to document infrastructure damage and asset losses. The Register encompasses a total of 45 claim categories, with 16 previously opened for citizens. It is crucial to note that the Register does not process payments; it solely records losses.

Claim Categories for the State and Businesses

For the state, the new categories cover the documentation of damage to both critical and non-critical infrastructure. Businesses can submit claims to record:

  • destroyed property
  • asset losses
  • lost profits or business closure

Claims can be filed through the Diia portal or on the Register's website (RD4U). Additionally, submissions can be made independently or via an authorized representative, with a digital power-of-attorney tool now available.

“It’s not just about the destruction itself, but also the costs of recovery—both those already incurred and those yet to come.”

Each documented claim contributes to building a case for Russia’s future liability for the damage inflicted. In this way, the RD4U Register is becoming a vital tool for cataloging losses and laying the groundwork for reconstruction.

The launch of new claim categories in the RD4U Register highlights the growing need to systematically document war-related damages. This not only provides a clearer picture of the destruction’s scale but also establishes a foundation for future compensation, which is essential for the country’s economic recovery. By enabling submissions through user-friendly online platforms, the process of recording losses is becoming more accessible to all segments of the population and the business community.

The recent introduction of new claim categories in the RD4U Registry underscores the urgent need for comprehensive documentation of damages caused by the ongoing conflict. This initiative complements the earlier announcement regarding the official process for Ukrainian businesses and government to record losses, reinforcing the importance of establishing a thorough record of destruction to facilitate future recovery efforts.
