Digital Permits Introduced for Cross-Regional Transport Companies

Bus operators running interregional services in Ukraine can now replace paper route permits with electronic ones. This initiative marks the first time digitalization has been extended to both new competitive tenders and existing routes. By adopting an electronic format, the process becomes more streamlined and interaction with government agencies accelerates.

Benefits of Going Digital

Ukraine has over 3,900 interregional bus routes, with permits serving as essential documents for their operation. Carriers can now obtain permits online, make changes digitally, and no longer need to submit paper documents to the ministry.

Oleksii Kuleba stated: 'Introducing the electronic format simplifies procedures and speeds up engagement with state authorities. Operators can now manage permits entirely online.'

The first routes to adopt the new system are:

  • Poltava — Pryluky (No. 679/680)
  • Boryspil — Ochakiv — Chornomorska Kosa (No. 7/8)

Each electronic permit contains all necessary information, making work easier for carriers and improving service for passengers.

This move to digital permits represents a major step in modernizing Ukraine's transportation system, likely boosting operator efficiency and reducing administrative hurdles. The digitalization effort aligns with broader trends of integrating advanced technology across economic sectors, which can positively impact the passenger transport industry.

As the transition to electronic permits unfolds, many carriers are already experiencing the advantages of this modernization.
