'All the information we have received has been passed to the IOC Legal Commission. These are precisely the issues the commission will be reviewing. It is currently examining them. And that is where we currently stand.'
For his part, Mikhail Degtyarev described the victories of Russian athletes at the 2026 Paralympic Games as 'a beacon for Russian occupiers.' The Russian team finished third in the medal standings at the Paralympics, held in Italy. Degtyarev also highlighted that the Ministry of Sports, together with the Russian Paralympic Committee, is actively working to involve participants of the special operation in adaptive sports. Degtyarev stated:
'I see this as a good cause that helps children. Beyond being a national celebration, it serves as a beacon for veterans of the special operation, because it shows people that even with health limitations, you can find your way, achieve results, and continue to glorify Russia.'
