The Ministry of Education approved the list of universities for admission to the 'zero course' starting from 2026

Міністерство освіти затвердило новий перелік університетів для вступу на 'нулевий курс' у 2026 році.

Experimental project 'Open Path to Higher Education'

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved the list of higher educational institutions for admission to the 'zero course', which will start in 2026 as part of the experimental winter admission project. This project aims to prepare applicants for study at higher educational institutions.

Details of the preparatory courses

Enrollment for the preparatory courses will last from the beginning of 2026. The duration of the courses will be from 3 to 6 months. As part of the program, participants will study mandatory subjects, including Ukrainian language, mathematics, and the history of Ukraine. Furthermore, each participant will have the opportunity to choose a fourth subject from among a foreign language, literature, or natural sciences. A total of 90 classroom hours is provided for all subjects.

It is important to note that applicants who successfully complete the 'zero course' will be able to receive up to 15 additional points when enrolling in the first year. The order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1726 establishes the list of educational institutions participating in the experiment.

This experimental project aims to improve the preparation of applicants for higher education and can be an important step in reforming the education system in Ukraine.

The introduction of the 'zero course' will allow young people who may not have a sufficient level of knowledge to receive the necessary preparation for successful admission to universities. The participation of a large number of educational institutions in the project indicates the interest of higher education in Ukraine in enhancing the quality of future students' preparation.
