In the Monobank app, a new feature has appeared — shared cards for family use. Now there's no need to constantly transfer funds or pass a physical card to pay for purchases from one budget. Simply update the app and grant access to your card to a close person.

This was reported by co-founder of the bank Oleg Gorokhovsky.

Gorokhovsky explained that the card owner can set a monthly spending limit, and the access recipient receives a separate card with its own number, but a shared balance.

«Previously, we had to transfer money to each other or pass the card — it was a bit annoying. From today everything has become simpler», — he noted.

How the new feature works: shared cards

  1. The card owner grants access in the app and sets the limit.

  2. The recipient receives a separate card with a unique number

  3. The balance is shared, but expenses are visible differently:

  • the owner sees all transactions;

  • the user sees only their own;

  • access can be closed at any time.

Gorokhovsky emphasized that the mechanism meets the requirements of legislation, and the control of expenses remains transparent. The innovation simplifies the management of joint budgets for families, couples, or close people.

Monobank is the first in Ukraine to offer this feature

This is the first solution on the Ukrainian market that allows officially and conveniently splitting the bill, avoiding additional transfers and the risks of passing a physical card. The feature is already available to all users after updating the app.
