IMF promises Ukraine 90 billion euros: what laws the fund requires and what they say about corruption in the Rada
The International Monetary Fund promises Ukraine financial assistance amounting to 90 billion euros. However, as discussed in political circles, the loan may be linked to requirements for the adoption of several laws, including tax laws.
People's Deputy Anna Skorokhod expressed doubts about the source of these requirements:
“I propose to make a parliamentary inquiry to the Minister of Finance and get an official answer about whether there really are such requirements from the IMF regarding laws that completely destroy our economy?”
At the same time, the broadcast mentioned an alternative internal credit program worth a trillion hryvnias, which provides loans at 3% per annum for 25 years for a million families (military, medical workers, teachers, refugees).
Corruption in Parliament
Separately, in the context of the parliament's work, the topic of corruption was raised. A statement from the head of SAP was cited, stating that in 2022, deputies received payments in envelopes amounting to 1-2 thousand dollars a month, later the amount increased to 5 thousand, and there were periods when it reached 20 thousand dollars. According to him, 41 current deputies are under suspicion.
The conversation also touched on the appointment of Serhiy Sternenko as an advisor to the Minister of Defense and the awarding of Oleg Lyashko, who commands a battalion of unmanned systems. In addition, it was noted that in Poltava, when contacting the CNAP or state institutions, a person is checked against the TCC databases.
