Voluntary Service for Women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
General mobilization concerns men aged 25-60, but service for women remains voluntary. Mandatory registration is only for medical workers and pharmacists. The Recruitment Center of the Armed Forces emphasizes that vacancies are adapted to civilian professions with full training.
Vacancies in the Armed Forces for Women in Autumn 2025
Available positions include:

administrative: accountant, clerk, lawyer;

medical: medic, nurse, paramedic;

technical: IT specialist, UAV operator, REB specialist;

other: cook, psychologist, aerial reconnaissance operator, radar operator, combat medic, scout, shooter.
All undergo basic and specialized training. The process is simple: VLK, contract – and you are in the ranks. Compulsory mobilization is possible only in extreme cases, with release due to age, health, or family circumstances.
How Many Women Serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
As of March 2025, about 70,000 women serve in the Armed Forces, including over 5,500 on the front line, according to the Ministry of Defense. This demonstrates the growing role of women in defending the country, with an emphasis on voluntariness and professional development.
Previously, we reported that the employment service identified 'male' professions chosen by women. One of the latest services of the State Employment Service has been training women under an experimental project, which is rapidly gaining popularity among employers and the unemployed. 629 women expressed a desire to retrain, of which 588 have already started their training.
