Teacher Detained on Suspicion of Criminal Offenses
Police in the Bila Tserkva region have arrested a 29-year-old schoolteacher on suspicion of engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl. According to reports, the suspect worked at the educational institution where the victim studied and communicated with her during nighttime and evening hours. He secretly visited the girl at her home, which became the basis for the investigation.
During searches of the suspect's property, authorities seized devices containing files of child pornography. Police have charged him under two articles of the Ukrainian Criminal Code:
- Part 1 of Article 155, concerning sexual acts with a person under the age of 16;
- Part 1 of Article 301-1, concerning access to child pornography.
The court has ordered pretrial detention without the possibility of bail. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Operational support for this case was provided by officers from the Migration Police Department of Kyiv Region.
Separate Rape Case
Additionally, a pretrial investigation has recently been completed in another case involving the rape of a 14-year-old girl by her stepfather in the Vinnytsia region. The accused in that case lived with his common-law wife and her two children. He is known to have applied psychological pressure to the victim, who became pregnant in March.
These incidents highlight serious issues related to violence against children and adolescents in Ukraine.
The arrest of the teacher in the Bila Tserkva region and the stepfather case in Vinnytsia underscore the urgent need for stronger child protection measures and preventive actions to stop such crimes. It is crucial for society and state authorities to work together to create a safe environment for children.
The alarming trend of violence against minors continues, as evidenced by another recent case in the Vinnytsia region. An 82-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of raping a 10-year-old girl. This incident, alongside the arrest of the teacher in Bila Tserkva, highlights the urgent need for enhanced protective measures and vigilance within communities to safeguard children from such heinous acts.
